Parish Religious Education Programme (PREP)

Religious Education in our Parish

Welcome to the Primary Religious Education program of Saints John and Paul Parish. Our program is a vibrant and dedicated Catholic community.

When enrolling please keep in mind  families need to commitment to a full one hour lesson every week. If your child has other commitments i.e. Dance music, band, sport etc, on a Tuesday or are not able to arrive at start time, surrounding Parishes run Religious education programs that you can join.  Our lessons are on a Tuesday’s from 3.50pm to 5.00pm.

Our classes often get to maximum capacity before the forms are due back so please make sure they are handed in as soon as possible.

Our terms run the same as school terms. We do finish term four at the end of November.

We are providing the PREP Enrollment Form this year in an interactive format for you to complete online.

If you do not have  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, which is free,  please down load it from  the program will allow you to save the form when you have filled it in. Please save a blank copy and then a new copy with your child’s name as the file name, if you have more than one child to enroll, please enter the information that applies to all the children, and then name a copy for each and then fill in the child specific information.

When you have completed the forms please send them back by email and we can register your child or children in our system, which reserves their place.  Please print and sign a copy of the form for each child you are registering and bring to PREP on any Tuesday, we are required to have signed copies of the forms to comply with the Archdiocese Duty of Care Regulations.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (R.C.I.A.)   Is a process whereby adults seeking to become Catholics are prepared over a period of 20 weeks of  discussion in small groups with an individual sponsor and a catechist.  The process culminates at the Easter Vigil Mass when participants receive the Sacraments of Baptism (if necessary), Eucharist and Confirmation. The R.C.I.A. begins around August and parishioners are needed to act as sponsors who are an integral part of the process.
Contact Howard 0412 177 378 for further details.
