On Saturday 17 October 2020, a group of youth from Mission4Christ and the wider community took part in Relay For Life in Joondalup. This is an annual event run by Cancer Council to help raise vital funds for cancer research and programs.
COVID-19 has been especially tough for Cancer Council. While the Relays have a tradition of being a 24-hour event to symbolise that cancer never stops, Cancer Council unfortunately had to cancel one of their Relays earlier this year, and ran a shortened version in Joondalup for 5.5 hours.
We are very grateful to have been able to attend Relay For Life this year. It was a day filled with running, walking, fundraising and entertainment, all in the name of fighting cancer. We would like to thank the parish and the wider community for their generosity, helping us to raise a total of $3510 for Cancer Council.
Please help us to pray for all those affected by cancer, that one day, people will never have to hear the words, ‘you have cancer’.
