On Sunday 9th June 2019, Fr. Thai and the group members of Personal Advocacy Service helped celebrate an Adapted/Inclusive Liturgy at the 10.30am Mass at Sts. John and Paul Parish, Willetton. During this liturgy, People with intellectual disabilities were enabled to participate in the celebration of the Eucharist with a little help from parish volunteers. They helped out by altar serving, candle bearers, being part of the entrance procession bringing in the book of gospels, leading movements to the reading, responsorial Psalm and Gospel, leading the Prayers of Intercession, bringing up the gifts in the Offertory Procession, distributing communion and just by being present.
Kenneth Phua, who is vision impaired gave a short talk on the importance of parishes being Inclusive and how people with disabilities have gifts and talents to share with everyone. Our Parish Inclusivity Co-ordinator is Sr. Josephine.
